For beginners, knowing how to start investing in the cryptocurrency space can be a daunting challenge. This online resource is specifically tailored to help you begin your investment in the economy of tomorrow.

Below are the tools you will need to begin your investment in this exciting space of cryptocurrencies:

1. A laptop and/or a smart phone

2.
A platform to convert your fiat currency (Naira, Dollars, Pounds etc) into bitcoin.

Coinbase

Coinbase

For investors in United states and Europe

Local Bitcoins

Local Bitcoins

For investors everywhere in the world.

Nairaex

Nairaex

For investors in Nigeria

Luno

Luno

For investors anywhere in the world.

For me, it's the most convenient. You can fund your account with you debit card and subsequently buy your bitcoin

3.
Next, you will need a platform to exchange your bitcoin for the altcoin of your choice (any other cryptocurrency apart from bitcoin are collectively known as altcoins e.g ethereum, neo, blockcat, vericoin, litecoin, etc).

Examples of top cryptocurrency exchanges you can use are;

4. Wallets

These are what you might call your personal mobile bank account. They contain public keys with which you can send and receive cryptos from other people/addresses. You will need two kinds of wallets:
  • Bitcoin Wallet: For your bitcoins
  • A wallet for every other altcoin you wish to invest in e.g an Ethereum wallet, Litecoin wallet etc. Please note, not all cryptocurrencies have android or ios wallets (most popular ones do but not all) but all cryptocurrencies have desktop wallets. You don't need to have a personal computer to have a desktop wallet. You can simply borrow one, download the wallet and delete it (after saving your passphrase securely).

Also note, for both mobile wallet and desktop wallet, you will need to keep your passphrase safe. If you lose it, you have lost access to that particular cryptocurrency you purchased forever (in the case where you lose your mobile phone or laptop/desktop computer).

If you would like to purchase our “illustrated how-to guide on investing in cryptocurrencies” ebook. (apart from the ebook, you will also receive regular investment suggestions from us via email.
